“City Waste is working with Tradewater, a company based in the United States, to collect and destroy harmful CFC refrigerants and prevent their release into the atmosphere. We collect CFC refrigerants from old appliances and in cylinders and cans that are no longer used anymore and sent  to the United States for environmentally friendly destruction. This work is done in order to generate carbon offset credits through the Verified Carbon Standard. By end of 2018 over 15,000kg of CFC's have been collected and sent to the US for destruction.
